One of Country Music's Hottest Acts Cools Off with Mayfield Flavor Decision '06

ATHENS, Tenn. (July 21, 2006) - Despite a grueling summer tour schedule, country music sensation, Little Big Town, took some time to weigh in on Mayfield Flavor Decision '06. Politics and ice cream are king in the South, so it's no surprise that the band felt a duty to pick their favorite ice cream from among Mayfield's four new feature flavors, Blueberry Cream Pie, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, Extreme Moose Tracks and Triple Brownie.

A private tasting held just hours before their performance with Kenny Chesney at Nashville's LP Stadium yielded a split decision among the Academy of Country Music Awards-nominated band mates. Karen Fairchild registered the only vote for Peanut Butter Cookie Dough and Phillip Sweet thought Blueberry Cream Pie was "berry" good. But the winner of the day turned out to be Extreme Moose Tracks which garnered half the band's votes thanks to Jimi Westbrook and Kimberly Roads.

"Extreme Moose Tracks...everything I want in an ice cream," Westbrook said. "Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!!!!"

Extreme Moose Tracks was pleased to hear of the endorsement saying, "It takes a smart and savvy group of people to make it in the Nashville music scene, let alone put out a gold record," Extreme Moose Tracks said, referring to Little Big Town's hit CD, The Road to Here. "I think this shows their obvious intelligence in supporting a candidate whose rich Moose Tracks® fudge swirl makes the perfect compliment to their swirling rich vocals."

A representative of Little Big Town said, "The band had a blast testing these delicious flavors, and each taste was carefully and thoughtfully considered, but when it came down to the final tally, Extreme Moose Tracks won by a spoon!"

The only candidate to issue a response so far is Triple Brownie, who received no votes from the band. In a pointed statement, the brownie batter flavored ice cream candidate said, "I've always been more of a rock and roll fan anyway." Analysts describe this cheap shot as "a sign of Triple Brownie's campaign frustrations."

Mayfield Flavor Decision '06 is coming into the home stretch. With just six weeks left to go it's still any ice cream's election. The latest string of campaign rallies in cities throughout the Southeast have drawn record taste buds - proof that Mayfield ice cream is an important issue to the voting public.

Flavor Decision '06 is a chance for the public to democratically choose a favorite from among Mayfield's four new feature flavors - Blueberry Cream Pie, Extreme Moose Tracks, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough and Triple Brownie. The polls will be open through August 27. Sampling and voting opportunities are available at several retail outlets and special events throughout the region. Visit www.MayfieldVote.com and click "Free Sampling Events" for a complete list of dates and locations. Sampling is also conducted at Mayfield's two visitor centers located in Athens, Tenn., and Braselton, Ga. Voters may also cast their ballots online at www.MayfieldVote.com, or by toll-free call to 1-866-789-VOTE (1-866-789-8683).

It's been an incredible nine months for Little Big Town, beginning with last October's release of their now gold-certified Equity Music Group CD, The Road to Here. The album's first single, "Boondocks," went Top 10 at country radio and their new single, "Bring It On Home," is currently Top 10 and climbing. The videos for both singles have hit No. 1 on CMT's "Top 20 Countdown." Little Big Town was also recently nominated for Top Vocal Group and Top New Duo or Vocal Group at the Academy of Country Music Awards. In addition to an extended tour with John Mellencamp, the band has recently played dates with some of the format's biggest stars, including Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson and Keith Urban. Later this year, the band will contribute a new song to the Disney DVD release of "The Fox & The Hound 2".
